To make a fool of myself

La expresión “to make a fool of myself / yourself” es muy común. Significa “hacer el ridículo”.

Mike: Look at me! I’m the coolest guy in the whole world! (he’s wearing a ridiculously big hat)

Jane: Take that off! You are making a fool of yourself!

Mike: Mírame! Soy el chico más guay del mundo entero! (lleva puesto un sombrero gigante)

Jane: Quítate eso! Estás haciendo el ridículo!

“Fool” como sustantivo significa tonto, una persona fácil de engañar.

Don’t be a fool!

No seas tonto!

“Fool”, como verbo significa engañar:

Don’t fool yourself

No te engañes a tí mismo
